Best Friends
This is dedicated to my best friend Carrie. Carrie, thank you so much for all ways being there for me and always listening to all my problems. You’re the best!
In a land far away and a time long ago, there lived two very good friends,
They could talk for hours and not be bored.
They could write pages upon pages to each other and still have plenty to say.
Both of them dearly loved the Lord.
Both were very different, yet very similar,
Both were tall, though on was blonde and one brunette,
Both of them were sharp, though one had blue eyes, and the other brown.
One was pale, the other tan, they would not be the same if they had never met.
One liked horses the other dolphins,
One liked pink and black the other blue, and green
One liked cold the other hot,
But they would go to see each other, even if one had the flu!
These to girls still are good friends even if one did move away.
They are still very close and travel to go see the other when it’s their birthdays.
They both gave each other so many things to laugh about, to cry about, and to talk about/
So go say thanks to your best friend today!
The Child Up On the Cliffs
High upon the cliff a small child looks out to sea,
Her salty tears streamed down her face, as she thought
of the day her father went away.
Her short blonde hair mixes with the wind as she
bluebell eyes filled once again.
Wiping them away she sits upon a rock staring at the
sea, thinking of that day.
There had been a thick fog and a light rain when he
left.
He had kissed her mother and hugged her and told them
not to worry.
"The days go by fast at sea." He had said, "I'll be
back in no time at all."
He gave them each one last hug then he left in a
scurry.
The days had gone by slowly like a snail caught in
mud.
Finally a letter came telling a tale quite unheard of.
There was a horrible wind and a dreadful hurricane,
That gas caught the good ship "Sailor's Dove."
Tossed and turned for two whole days till at last the
storm relented.
During this fray the captain had been thrown over the
side.
Only one man was brave enough to drive among the waves
to save his commander.
They could not find that man even though they tried.
They searched the sea in hope; they searched the lower
decks,
They searched the shore in hope he had been washed a
shore.
They found his bruised body lying on the ground.
But he was no more.
And here is the truth in whole.
For many people has lost someone dear to them.
And even some that haven't is still to be treasured.
For anyone who understands your pain is a true gem.
